Is there anything more beautiful and interesting than a colorful succulent garden?
It’s very easy to make your own succulent garden in your home that will add a little bit of color and nature all year round. First, choose a pretty container. Choose one that is short and wide, or you can put succulents in many different little containers to make your garden even more interesting.
You will want to add a layer of gravel to the bottom of the container, as succulents do not like wet roots.
You will then want to add a layer of fast-draining soil, such as a cactus potting soil.
Choose your succulents based on color, height, and different shapes. Select a focal point for your pot and plant your favorite succulent there. This doesn’t have to be in the center, it can be off to the side and then build off of this succulent. Maybe add a pretty rock, shell, or crystal.
After you are finished, give your pot a good, initial misting, taking care not to over water. Succulents will then need to be watered once a week.
If you are like most pet owners, the first question you have when you get a new plant is, “Will my pet die when he eats it?” We know there is a 99.9999% likelihood that your cat or dog will try to eat it. I was very happy to learn that almost all succulents are non-toxic to animals.
So enjoy some beauty inside all year round!
